Dr. R. Narayana Babu, Vice-Chancellor of Sri Venkateswaraa University, having Medical, Nursing, Pharmacy, Allied Health Science, Physiotherapy, Agriculture and Management Studies Colleges. He was working as Director of Medical Education, Tamilnadu for 4 years from 2019 to 2022. During that time, he has successfully handled the Covid Pandemic and its 3 wave's upto 2022.

During his period of Director of Medical Education, Tamilnadu he was instrumental in getting sanction to 11 New Govt. Medical Colleges to Tamilnadu and increasing 1500 new MBBS seats. He has served for 10 years as Dean and DME in Tamil Nadu Medical service, viz., Dean of Madras Medical College & Rajiv Gandhi Government General Hospital Chennai, Kilpauk Medical College, Omandurar Medical College, Thiruvannamalai Medical College and Dharmapuri Medical College.
He was the member of the prestigious National Medical Commission (NMC) for 2 years (2020-22). He has served 34 years of govt. service as Pediatrician, Medical Superintendent, Dean and DME. He was also the Director of Govt. Super Specialty Hospital Omandurar for 2 years. He was the Senate member of MGR University as well as Member Secretary for more than 31 universities and organizations. He was Chairman & Member of many committees and bodies including Chairman UG/PG Medical selection Committees, Covid committee, NEET Committee, Justice D. Murugesan Committee which got 7.5% reservation for M.B.B.S in Medical Colleges for the Govt. School Students.
He has more than 15 awards from Tamilnadu and received Best Doctor award for consequently for 4 years from Honorable Chief Minister of Tamilnadu as well as from the Honorable Governor of Tamilnadu. He authored many textbook of Pediatrics and research articles. He has more than 12 original publications and more than 220 researches.
