He holds an MBBS from Government T.D. Medical College, Kerala, and an MS in Anatomy from JIPMER, Puducherry. With a strong academic foundation, he has contributed extensively to clinical anatomy through research, publications, and international collaborations, including with Cardiff University, UK. His leadership journey includes key roles such as Principal and Associate Dean at Sri Venkateswaraa Medical College Hospital and Research Institute, Chennai, along with serving as Founder Editor-in-Chief of the National Journal of Clinical Anatomy (NJCA), now indexed in SCOPUS and EMBASE.
Dr. Muthukumaravel is widely recognized for his excellence in institution building and quality-driven administration. He has played a pivotal role in establishing academic departments, developing advanced teaching facilities, and achieving NABH accreditation in the first cycle as Associate Dean cum NABH Coordinator. Currently serving as President of the Society of Clinical Anatomists (SOCA) India, he continues to represent the nation at global academic platforms. With a results-oriented approach, he aims to further elevate Sri Venkateswaraa University as a center of academic distinction and global relevance.
