Youth Red Cross Blood Donation Camp - 2026
As an inaugural initiative of the Youth Red Cross (YRC), Tamil Nadu State Branch, the YRC Unit of Sri Venkateswaraa Medical College Hospital and Research Institute organised an awareness programme and voluntary blood donation camp on 15th October 2026 at the college premises.The programme was conducted with the encouragement and support of Shri B. Ramachandiran, Hon'ble Chancellor; Smt. R. Radha Ramachandiran, Pro-Chancellor; and Smt. Atcheya Kamlesh, Executive Director, Sri Venkateswaraa University.
The event was graced by Dr. B. Sivapathasundharam, Pro Vice-Chancellor; Dr. G. Venkateswaran, Medical Superintendent; Dr. T. Sabeetha, Dean; Dr. E. Susithra, YRC University Programme Coordinator; and other faculty members and dignitaries.Dr. Soundarya, Blood Bank Medical Officer, delivered an informative session highlighting the significance of voluntary blood donation and its vital role in saving lives. The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from approximately 120 student volunteers representing MBBS, Bachelor of Physiotherapy (BPT), Sri Venkateswaraa Nursing College, and the College of Pharmacy and College of Allied Health Sciences.
The initiative aimed to promote voluntary blood donation and instil a spirit of compassion, social responsibility, and humanitarian service among students.Dr. M. Vinoth Kumar, YRC Programme Officer, proposed the vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to the management, dignitaries, faculty members, organisers, student volunteers, and donors for their valuable contributions to the successful conduct of the programme.
