SVU Students Join Hands For a Noble Cause - Blood Donation Drive - 2026
Sri Venkateswaraa University participated in the National Voluntary Blood Donation Day programme organized by the Indian Red Cross Society, Tamil Nadu Branch, on October 1, 2026, at Egmore, Chennai. SVU students enthusiastically joined the voluntary blood donation initiative, demonstrating their commitment to humanitarian service and social responsibility.
The programme provided students with an opportunity to contribute to a meaningful community health initiative while promoting awareness about the importance of voluntary blood donation. Their active involvement reflected the spirit of compassion, civic responsibility, and collective action in supporting patients who depend on safe and timely blood availability.
The event was coordinated by Dr. E. Susithra, University Programme Coordinator, Youth Red Cross (YRC), Sri Venkateswaraa University, with encouragement from the Pro Vice-Chancellor, Dr. B. Sivapathasundharam. The initiative strengthened student engagement in humanitarian activities and reinforced the vital message that voluntary blood donation can make a meaningful difference in saving lives and supporting community health.
