Rashtriya Poshan Maah Promotes Child Nutrition and Early Childhood Development - 2026

Sri Venkateswaraa Nursing College B.Sc. Nursing IV Year students conducted a Community Awareness Programme at Government Primary School, Ponneri, as part of the 9th Rashtriya Poshan Maah 2026. The initiative focused on "Hamari Anganwadi, Hamari Jimmedari - Stronger Anganwadi, Stronger Future - Eat Right, Grow Right".

The awareness session addressed the importance of balanced nutrition, healthy eating practices, early stimulation, and comprehensive childhood development. Through community-focused education, the nursing students highlighted how appropriate nutrition and positive developmental support during early years can contribute to healthier growth and improved lifelong well-being.

The programme supported national health and nutrition priorities while contributing to SDG 2 - Zero Hunger, SDG 3 - Good Health and Well-being, and SDG 4 - Quality Education, particularly Target 4.2 on early childhood development. The initiative demonstrated the valuable role of nursing students in advancing community health awareness and strengthening preventive healthcare education.
