World Environment Day 2024
The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), in association with the College of Pharmacy, organized World Environment Day 2024 on 5 June to promote environmental awareness and sustainable practices. The programme focused on the 2024 theme, "Land Restoration, Halting Desertification, and Building Drought Resilience," emphasizing the need to restore ecosystems and protect natural resources. The slogan "Our Land, Our Future" inspired participants to recognize their shared responsibility towards environmental conservation.
The event was graced by Executive Director Smt. K. Atcheya, Hon'ble Vice Chancellor Dr. R. Narayana Babu, Principals, Vice Principals, faculty members, and students from the Colleges of Pharmacy, Physiotherapy, and Nursing. As a mark of their commitment to sustainability, the dignitaries and participants actively took part in a sapling plantation drive, nurturing young plants across the campus to promote a greener and healthier environment.
An enlightening awareness session was delivered by Mr. Simon Anandh Raj S., Social Activist, who highlighted the importance of land restoration, biodiversity conservation, and responsible environmental practices. His interactive session encouraged participants to adopt sustainable habits and contribute towards combating desertification and drought. The programme reaffirmed the institution's commitment to environmental stewardship, community engagement, and building a resilient future for generations to come.
