Three-Day Personality Development and Employability Training Workshop

The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) and the College of Pharmacy, in association with GTT Foundation, Pune, successfully organized a Three-Day Personality Development and Employability Training Workshop on August 5, 6, and 8, 2024, at Sri Venkateswaraa University. The workshop was conducted under the theme, "The Transformational Role of Teachers in Personal Development and Character Building." The resource person for the programme was Ms. Kanmani Thivya Jas. M, Master Trainer and Counselling Psychologist from GTT Foundation, Mumbai, who served as the guest speaker and facilitator throughout the workshop.

The three-day programme featured comprehensive sessions on personality development, employability skills, and professional excellence. The topics covered included livelihood opportunities, SWOT analysis, goal setting, effective communication, time management, self-motivation, leadership, critical thinking, problem-solving, decision-making, medical work ethics, customer service in healthcare, resume writing, email etiquette, grooming etiquette, group discussion techniques, interview skills, and mock interviews. In addition, participants attended a special lecture on the psychological foundations of transformational teaching, highlighting the role, characteristics, approaches, and methods of transformational teachers in fostering students' personal development and character building. The sessions were designed to strengthen students' personality, communication skills, employability competencies, emotional intelligence, and ethical values. Through interactive activities, group discussions, practical exercises, and experiential learning, participants developed greater self-awareness, professional behaviour, leadership qualities, teamwork, and career readiness. The workshop also emphasized the vital role of teachers in shaping students' character, instilling values, and promoting holistic development.

A total of 150 students from the College of Pharmacy, College of Physiotherapy, and College of Management Studies actively participated in the workshop and benefited from the expert guidance and engaging learning experience. The workshop concluded with positive feedback from the participants, who appreciated the practical approach and motivational sessions that inspired them to strive for both personal and professional excellence.
